Help Celebrate World Girls’ Hockey Weekend

When: October 6-8, 2017

In October 2017 the International Ice Hockey Federation and Hockey Canada will team up to host the seventh annual World Girls’ Hockey Weekend. This event aims to celebrate and grow the Female Game from coast to coast and unite Canadians through grassroots programming that is led by local communities, MHAs and families.

The variety of events are endless for groups or individuals to get involved. From girls and women trying out the sport for the first time to just a simple celebration of the game, Canadians from coast to coast are encouraged to take part and register their event with Hockey Canada. Women’s hockey is the fastest growing game in Canada, let’s keep the momentum going and utilize this opportunity to educate and motivate our players, coaches, volunteers and supporters.

Dozens of countries across the globe will also be participating in the weekend as each puts their celebration efforts on display. As the world leader in the sport, World Girls Hockey Weekend is our chance to put our stamp on the female game and show the rest of the world what Canadians are capable of. This October 6-8, let’s have a cross-Canada celebration heard around the world!

Now that you’re excited to be part of the celebration, don’t let your event go unnoticed! No matter how big (ie. full tournament) or small (ie. road hockey game), register your event with us, it only takes a couple of minutes and we will add it to the list of events happening across Canada that is submitted to the IIHF and shown on our website!

Wildcats Dance

September 27, 2017

The Midget AA Nepean Wildcats would like to invite you to the 5th Annual Nepean Wildcats Season Kick-off Dance which will take place on:

Friday, September 29th

Sir Robert Borden High School

(131 Greenbank Rd.)

Last year over 300 girls and parents enjoyed the event.

We’re back with music, a photobooth, nail painting, face painting and more! There will be hot dogs, chips, drinks and baked goods for sale.

The evening is a great opportunity for the NGHA Community to celebrate together, kick-off the season and bond with new team mates and old friends. The event is fully chaperoned so parents don’t have to stay. Younger siblings and non-hockey playing girls are also welcome.

In previous years, we have been able to attend practice mornings leading up to the dance to pre-sell tickets. This year, that was not possible so we are relying on e-mail and social media to spread the good word!

Admission will be $5 at the door.

It is our hope that this event will be attended by each and every girl playing hockey in the NGHA. This is a great way to truly experience the Wildcat Family vibe!

We cannot do this without your support so kick-off your skates, come out to dance and let’s have another great Wildcat season!!!
