The Wildcat Christmas Cheer Challenge!

Please help us reach our Christmas Gift Card Goal!

56 Teams x 5 cards per team = 280 $5.00 Tim Horton’s Cards!!!!

Acts of charity seldom evolve without the generosity of many.

The attached photo was taken Christmas morning 2014 at the Ottawa Men's Mission.
This was one of 4 stops we generally make on Christmas Day; the others are the Cornerstone Women's Mission, The Salvation Army and Shepherds of Good Hope.

The attached video was created by former Wildcat Amy Graham.

In 2018 we were able to distribute over 600 - $5.00 Tim Horton's cards and 100 winter toques and gloves (generously donated by Shawn Rivers of Gunn Media), to the less fortunate.

It was lovely to hear from the staff at the Mission that those who rely on their wonderful services have started asking in the days leading up to Christmas whether the folks who bring the Tim's cards will be coming again this year.

It is our hope we will be able to carry on this small tradition for many years to come but as mentioned, it cannot occur without the thoughtful generosity of people such as you.

So here we find ourselves, a frosty nip in the air and Christmas 2019 fast approaching with a significant challenge ahead. If you can find it within your heart and charitable budget to donate a little something to this initiative it would be very much appreciated. As described to me by a representative at the Mission, these small gift cards allow a homeless person to enjoy a sense of normalcy they seldom get to savour in the comfort of a Tim Horton’s restaurant.

Something you and I perhaps take for granted. There are 56 teams within the NGHA. If each team donates 5 cards (that is roughly $1.50 per player) we would have a minimum of 280 cards. Come on Wildcats, I saw your spirit at the Season Kickoff Dance so let’s see it again. Please help us towards our goal! God bless you, Merry Christmas and thank you very much!
