Annual General Meeting 2022

Notice of Annual General Meeting (AGM)

This year's AGM will be held in person! All NGHA Members are encouraged to attend (note: only Members who are 18 years and older are eligible to vote).

Volunteers for upcoming 2022-23 season:

We are looking for volunteers for various jobs within the NGHA without requiring the commitment of being on the Board.

We are looking for volunteers to fill the following roles:

  • Tournament director
  • Tournament volunteers
  • Website manager(s)
  • Jersey manager
  • House league convenors
  • Competitive convenors

Agenda for AGM:

  1. Presentation and adoption of the minutes of the 2021 Annual General Meeting
  2. Presentation of the Mary Lou Zywicki Bursaries
  3. Presentation of the Les Banks Bursary
  4. Report from the President
  5. Reports from Directors and Committees
  6. Reports from the auditors
  7. The Budget for the ensuing year and audit changes
  8. Other business of interest and concern to the members
  9. Amendment to the Constitution
  10. Election of Officers and Directors
  11. Adjournment


The following positions are up for election:

  • President
  • Vice President of Programs
  • Competitive Director 1
  • Competitive Director 2
  • House League Director 2 (Incumbent Lisa Camilucci running again)
  • Policy, Risk and Safety Director
  • Registrar
  • Secretary

The following positions are not up for election:

  • Vice President of Operations (Chad Chambers)
  • House League Director 2 (Tracy Foster)
  • Treasurer (Ray Murphy)

Nominations for all positions must be submitted to the Secretary by email at least 14 days prior to the AGM (May 24, 2022). Any voting member of the NGHA may be nominated for a vacancy on the Board of Directors, with the exception of President and Vice President who shall have served on the Board of Directors for at least one full year prior to taking office as President or Vice President. Thus, for the 2022 election, nominations for the positions of President and Vice-President of Programs must meet the preceding criteria and be signed by a mover and seconder who must both be voting members of the Association.

What is involved in being a Board member:

All Board members are expected to attend a monthly Board meeting where they will report on issues/concerns relevant to their position. Additionally, each board member is required to participate on various committees within the Board that meet independent of the monthly Board meetings.

Board members should be available to attend to NGHA business in a timely fashion and are expected to respond to NGHA emails and calls on a daily basis.

For Competitive Directors, there is an additional (and big) time commitment during tryouts and when team budgets are being approved.

For House League Directors, there is an additional (and big) time commitment during sortouts and championship weekend.

The Registrar can expect to be busy during registration, tryouts and sortouts.
