It is exciting to have the opportunity to coach the Bantam B team for the upcoming 2018/2019 season. I look forward to the challenge and will do my best to leverage the experience garnered over the past several years of involvement with the Wildcats along with my personal playing career so that the individuals and team as a whole have a productive and enjoyable season. This will be my 4th year as Head Coach in the NGHA.

Coaching Philosophy

Skill development will be the primary objective for the coaching staff. All individual and team tactics along with team strategies are to be built on the foundation of progressive individual skills.
Of course, fun and hockey go hand in hand. Other core beliefs are to encourage and achieve consistent focused effort, and implementation of dynamic team play. I also believe in practices with purpose and pace, creative hockey within a structured foundation, and fair ice time. Ideally for the season to be a success all players will show improvement and continue to enjoy and play hockey.

We will be looking to play in five tournaments with the possibility of provincials as well. Below is a tentative list of tournaments that is subject to change as new information becomes available. Dates are not confirmed.

Oshawa Sep 21-23
Etobicoke Oct 12-14 or Clearview Oct 19-21
Kanata Nov 17-19
Nepean Feb 1-3
Brantford Feb 22-24
Provincials (early April - must qualify)

The team will be together an average of 4 times a week.
The estimated team fees are between $1500 and $1800 per player.

The evaluators will be looking for a combination of effort level, hockey sense, and hockey skills such as passing & skating. Good luck to all the players.
