PAUL LAFRENIERE

MCBB

My name is Paul Lafreniere and I’ll have the privilege of coaching the Nepean Wildcats MCBB team for the 2018-19 season.
I’ve been involved with the NGHA since 2008 as Assistant Coach and Head Coach.

Coaching Philosophy

My coaching philosophy emphasizes team speed, positional play and puck possession. Most importantly, I want players to have fun and look forward coming to the rink. Hockey should be a healthy outlet for the players and my goal is for everyone to have great and memorable experience.
.

Practices

Initially, practices will consist of skating and skill development drills that replicate game situations (i.e. quick shots, battle drills, net drive, back checking). As the season progresses, more focus will be directed towards schemes, systems and situational play.

Budget

Team fees will be $1,600 - $1,800 per player.

Tournaments

Planned tournaments include the following:

Oakville Hornets Harvest Classic: September
Etobicoke Dolphins Pink the Rink: October
Kanata: November
Gloucester: December
NGHA: February
Durham West Tournament: February

Volunteers

After the team is selected, I’ll be reaching for volunteers to fill out the team staff including assistant coaches, manager, trainer(s) and treasurer.

Good luck to all the players during tryouts!

Regards,
Paul Lafreniere
