House League Sortouts and Novice Competitive Tryouts

Novice competitive tryouts will take place on Saturday, September 7th from 1:15pm - 3:05pm at Minto Recreation Complex in Barrhaven.
If your daughter is interested, you must register for the tryout by August 31st.

Novice house league sortouts will take place on Sunday, September 8th from 7:45am - 11:45am at Minto Recreation Complex in Barrhaven.

Your daughter will be placed on a team solely for the purpose of sortouts. You will be notified what team your daughter is on and given the schedule for sortouts even if she is registered for competitive tryouts. Should your daughter make the competitive team, there’s no need to show up for house league sortouts.

Sortouts will consist of multiple mini-games. Each sortout team will play three to four mini-games (approximately 16 minutes in duration) so your daughter will be on the ice multiple times within the four-hour sortout window. Every effort is made to have teams play all of their games within a 90-minute period.

Following sortouts, you will be notified by the coach of the team that your daughter has been sorted to. You can expect to hear from the coach by Tuesday, September 10th.

Teams start the regular season the weekend of September 14th and 15th.
There will be a Novice Parent Information Session on Wednesday, September 11 at 7:00pm at Walter Baker Centre in the Food Court on the 2nd floor.
