The NGHA house league program begins in September and concludes in early March with a tournament-style playoff weekend. Our teams are part of the Nepean-Kanata House League. In addition to great game play within Nepean, our teams also play cross-association games against Kanata.
Our house league program provides an opportunity for girls to develop their hockey skills and grow their love of the game with an emphasis on having fun. Girls learn valuable life skills including sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork and respect.
Teams are balanced with players of all abilities within their designated age divisions following a sort out process, which takes place in September. For this reason, we do not take friend requests.

Open to players aged 18 and older, the NGHA's Senior House League program provides an opportunity to help players stay in the game longer and enjoy it to the fullest! Our goal is to create a fun, inclusive environment for all players. We aim to keep all athletes engaged, confident and excited to play for years to come!
Registration fees for our Senior House League Program are set at $400. There are no additional team fees required. Players can expect to play one game per week, starting in mid-October until March.
Please contact the NGHA House League Director at nghahldirector1@gmail.com for more information.
*All ages as of December 31.
House league players can expect to be on the ice twice a week, for 50 minutes each time. Practices are usually scheduled on Saturdays, with games on Sundays. The majority of practices and games take place at Minto Recreation Complex in Barrhaven, Nepean Sportsplex, and at Carleton University.
Teams also typically play in three tournaments over the course of the season, usually with one being an out-of-town tournament.
In addition to the registration fee, there are team fees which cover the cost of tournament registration fees, goalie training, and other team expenses. Team fees typically range from $250 to $400 per player and some teams also choose to do fundraising.
A team budget will be provided to families and a budget vote will occur at a parent meeting near the start of the season.
The NGHA's House League Goalie incentive is back for the 2026-2027 season!
In order to encourage and support goalie development at the House League level, the NGHA is offering a 50% rebate of house league registration fees to house players at the U11, U13, U15 and U18 levels who commit to playing the position full time for the 2026-2027 season.
In addition, house league players at the U11, U13, U15 and U18 levels who are interested in playing goalie part time may also be eligible to receive a 25% rebate of house league registration fees. To qualify for the part-time rebate, players must play the position for a minimum of 9 games (regular season games, including championship weekend) and a minimum of 3 tournament games.
The rebate, if applicable, will be offered in the form of a credit towards house league registration fees for the 2027-2028 season. U18 goalies who are aging out of the program will be offered a rebate in the form of a refund following the conclusion of the 2026-2027 season.
Please note at U9, players will rotate through all positions including goalie as recommended by Hockey Canada.
Any questions about the goalie rebate can be directed towards the House League Directors at nghahldirector1@gmail.com
